Removing existing tiles from a concrete floor can be a difficult
task.
The best way to accomplish it is to use a jackhammer. Be
sure to cover all cupboards and furniture with drop sheets as it
is a very messy job.
After removing the tiles, it’s a good idea
to use a self leveling compound to ensure you have a level
surface to tile onto.
Remember the finished job is only as good
as the surface underneath. Removing existing tiles that have
been laid onto ceramic tile underlay is a lot easier. Simply
lift up the tiles and the underlay all together and lay new
underlay for the new tiles.
