Polished porcelain is a porcelain tile with a polished surface. The
polished surface isn't a glaze. It is created in a fashion to granite
by buffing and polishing the surface. It's
important to note that the polishing process on a porcelain tile
actually opens up the pores of the tile. This means this
particular product must have a penetrating or impregnating sealer
applied to the entire surface before grouting. This will increase
the resistance against
staining and make these tiles easier to keep clean.
Cleaning products designed specifically for polished porcelain
are available from our store that are recommended for
maintenance of your porcelain and are gentle on the sealers
used.
