                           Measuring Up.

If you have a scaled house plan, bring it in and the staff at Ballarat Tiles can measure it for you. We are also happy to calculate your area off sketches that contain the correct measurements. Otherwise here are some tips for how to measure up your tiling job.

To calculate your area you need two measurements; for walls multiply the finished height by the length, for floors multiply the room’s width by the length. This will give you your area in square metres. If the area you are tiling is interrupted by windows, doors, benches etc. measure them in the same way and subtract these from your total area.

Add approximately 10% to your total to cover any wastage (e.g.. breakages, incorrect cuts, off cuts) and to ensure you have some spare pieces for any future mishaps or extensions.

Alternatively, if you are using a professional tiler, they can measure the area for you.

Below is a simple Calculator to give you an Indication, as you will need to exclude permanent objects
